Job Summary
Analyze commodity requirements, solicit supplier proposals, and negotiate costs balanced against quality and schedule needs. Implement purchase contracts compliant with regulations while maintaining timely control of orders and shipping documents. Develop material schedules to meet sales and inventory objectives, coordinate with manufacturing on load levels, and supervise rush orders to offset delays. Monitor inventory levels monthly and report on slow-moving stock quarterly. Act as a liaison with engineering and sales to resolve production problems and ensure adherence to committed delivery dates.
Required Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor's Degree.
- Possess at least 3 years of similar or related experience.
- Possess advanced proficiency in one or more software programs including Microsoft Office products and manufacturing software.
- Possess proficiency in SAP.
- Possess intermediate mathematical skills performing calculations involving percentages, fractions, area, circumference, and volume.
- Possess the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Possess the ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical information such as financial and legal documents.
- Possess advanced communication and negotiation skills using tact and diplomacy.
- Possess the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Possess the ability to move up to twenty-five pounds.
