Job Summary
Buyer/Planner II focused on optimizing inventory and supplier relationships to support production schedules. Responsibilities include planning and procuring materials, analyzing demand forecasts and material requirements, creating and managing purchase orders, collaborating with suppliers to improve delivery performance, quality, and cost competitiveness, developing supplier relationships, monitoring performance metrics, conducting should-cost analysis, participating in Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) initiatives, ensuring compliance with GMP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement through Lean/Six Sigma or other methodologies. Prepare and analyze reports and KPIs to support data-driven decision-making; identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies; coordinate with manufacturing, quality, engineering, sourcing, and logistics to align supply chain activities with business objectives; support strategic sourcing and procurement cost reduction projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent)
- 5–7 years of experience in purchasing, material planning, or supply chain operations
- APICS certification or other supply chain certifications preferred
- Proficiency in SAP and strong understanding of MRP principles
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros)
- Strong analytical and data management capabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for vendor and stakeholder management
- Experience with forecasting, inventory optimization, and demand planning
- Knowledge of GMP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Should costing and VAVE experience
- Strong English communication (verbal and written)
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to collaborate in a matrix organization
