Job Summary
Manage assigned commodity categories and supplier relationships by creating purchase orders based on MRP action messages, negotiating pricing and lead times, and resolving shortages or quality issues. Analyze MRP recommendations to develop purchasing plans that maintain appropriate inventory levels while supporting production schedules and demand forecasts. Partner with Production, Engineering, and Finance to communicate material risks and recovery plans, tracking key metrics such as on-time delivery, inventory turns, and purchase price variance. Identify and qualify new suppliers to improve competitiveness and supply continuity while supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.
Required Qualifications
- ERP/MRP system experience
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in purchasing, planning, procurement, or supply chain
