Job Summary
Entry-level Buyer/Planner supports day-to-day tactical purchasing and production planning to ensure material availability and on-time customer delivery. Responsibilities include creating, releasing, and maintaining purchase orders for direct materials; tracking supplier acknowledgments, delivery dates, and open orders; following up on late or incorrect deliveries; maintaining accurate purchasing data in ERP/MRP; aiding in inventory replenishment; assisting with daily/weekly production schedules in ERP/MRP; monitoring work order status and flagging material or scheduling conflicts; updating lead times, routings, and bills of material; coordinating priorities between production, purchasing, and inventory control; supporting engineering change implementation; running standard reports related to open orders, shortages, inventory levels, and schedule adherence; participating in inventory accuracy and cycle count activities; contributing to continuous improvement efforts in planning, purchasing, and material flow.
Required Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in a manufacturing, supply chain, or materials role
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field preferred but not required
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
