Review purchase requests, communicate with suppliers and operations managers, and examine prices, suitability, and availability of items or services. Verify purchase requisitions against master lists, clarify unclear items, and recommend alternatives while comparing specifications and reviewing options. Drive continuous improvement efforts to create inventory systems that control costs, and provide purchasing planning and controls information by collecting, analyzing, and reporting data and trends to the Regional Purchasing Manager. Manage inventory accuracy using a cycle count program, forward available inventory items by verifying stock and scheduling deliveries, and prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and prices. Obtain recommendations from suppliers for substitute items, verify receipt of items by comparing them to orders, resolve shipment errors with suppliers, and authorize payment for purchases by forwarding received documentation.
