Job Summary
The Buyer position is essential for supporting high-mix contract electronics manufacturing operations by procuring electronic components, PCBA materials, fabricated parts, and indirect supplies. The successful candidate will manage purchase orders using ERP/MRP systems, monitor open orders, expedite materials, negotiate pricing and supplier agreements, and maintain supplier relationships. Required qualifications include over 5 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing, specific experience in the electronics/EMS industry, and advanced ERP skills. An Associate’s degree is required with a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of purchasing in a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years specifically in the electronics / EMS industry
- Strong ERP/MRP experience (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, etc.)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis)
- Experience negotiating pricing and managing supplier performance
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven manufacturing environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing
- Knowledge of electronic components and PCBA supply chains
- Familiarity with supply chain risk mitigation strategies
