Job Summary
Researches and acquires materials, equipment and services according to the organization’s guidelines for cost, quality and delivery. Education: high school diploma or equivalent; preferred Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience: at least one year as a buyer, preferably in a hospital setting. Skills include Microsoft Office and purchasing systems, compiling statistics and presenting information in spreadsheets; strong interpersonal and customer- relation skills. Physical/work requirements include sitting at a computer terminal, clear communication, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Special considerations include Category III blood borne disease exposure.
