Job Summary
Detail-oriented Buyer to support daily procurement activities, supplier coordination, and material availability to support production schedules. The role involves maintaining accurate GSS ERP data, creating and managing purchase orders, expediting critical materials, monitoring supplier performance and delivery, generating routine reports, and collaborating with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Program Management to align with cost, quality, and delivery objectives. Exposure to FAR/DFARS in aerospace/defense contexts and strong supplier relationship skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 2-5 years of purchasing/procurement/supply chain/materials management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience procuring machined components, fabricated parts, raw materials, or manufacturing services
- Proficiency with ERP systems and purchasing software (SAP, Coupa); Global Shop Solutions (GSS) ERP experience preferred
- Strong understanding of PO management, supplier coordination, and inventory replenishment
- Ability to analyze supplier quotations, pricing, lead times, and delivery performance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) for data analysis and reporting
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and work cross-functionally
- Working knowledge of supplier performance monitoring, expediting, and inventory management
- Familiarity with U.S. federal procurement requirements (FAR/DFARS) within aerospace/defense manufacturing environments
