Job Summary
The Buyer will own purchasing across raw materials, components, and outsourced services, and will actively challenge pricing, supplier terms, and sourcing practices to drive measurable cost and performance improvements. Responsibilities include breaking down current spend, identifying cost savings opportunities, renegotiating pricing/lead times/terms, rationalizing the supplier base, aligning purchasing with production demand, bringing structure to purchasing processes and controls, leveraging ERP/MRP data for visibility and effectiveness, monitoring market trends (especially metals), and supporting broader supply chain turnaround efforts with a focus on cost, flow, and efficiency. Key skills include strong analytical ability, pushback on suppliers/internal stakeholders, negotiation, independent ownership, and a curious, questioning mindset to drive data-driven purchasing decisions.
Required Qualifications
- 3–7 years of experience in purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain within manufacturing
