Job Summary
Buyer - Indirect responsible for managing suppliers for indirect materials and services (CapEx, MRO, R&D, samples and outside services), issuing and tracking purchase orders, supporting supplier qualifications and approvals, coordinating with sourcing, quality assurance, and project leads, and driving cost reductions and continuous improvements. The role involves analyzing requisitions and specifications, preparing RFIs/RFQs/RFPs, evaluating multi-supplier responses, managing supplier relationships, and expediting orders to meet customer demand, with occasional overnight travel and collaboration across global locations. Proficient in MS Excel and the broader Office suite; strong communication skills and the ability to work with engineers, project management, and cross-functional teams are required; familiarity with Kanban and production planning is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing, Planning, Sourcing or related Supply Chain fields
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work with key stakeholders in multiple global locations and at various levels
- Willing to make infrequent overnight travel as needed
