Job Summary
Procure goods and services cost-effectively and timely while developing relationships with suppliers to maintain inventory levels. Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and quality. Implement cost-saving strategies, develop annual plans for continuous cost reduction, and ensure planning data integrity within procurement software. Mentor less experienced buyers to meet performance expectations and strengthen team skills. Maintain lean inventory levels and drive initiatives to improve OTD and reduce expenses. This role requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and procurement tools, along with strong negotiation and communication abilities to build relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Possess in-depth knowledge of purchasing, procurement, supplier management, supply chain management and strategic procurement implementation
- Be able to demonstrate effective negotiation skills and experience collaborating with suppliers
- Be proficient in Microsoft Excel and procurement software tools
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing business needs and priorities
- Synthesizes data into crisp and sound strategic insights and conclusions
- Takes a global and long-term perspective when making business decisions
- Able to navigate ambiguity and complexity in order to adapt quickly
- Possesses a desire to learn new things and seeks out knowledge
