Job Summary
Manage your own buyer desk and supplier portfolio while partnering with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Planning to ensure the right materials arrive at the right cost and time. Purchase materials across domestic and international suppliers, negotiating pricing and contracts to target year-over-year savings while reducing supply chain risk. Own supplier relationships, execute sourcing strategies including consolidation and make-versus-buy analysis, and lead new supplier qualification activities with site visits. Monitor performance using KPIs focused on quality, service, cost, and delivery, performing root cause analysis on stockouts and missed deliveries to drive corrective actions. Manage purchase orders, safety stock levels, and ERP data while balancing inventory investment with production requirements. Partner with New Product Development teams to build supply strategies for new products and support ISO requirements and purchasing compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field, or 3 to 5 years of equivalent purchasing experience
- Hands-on experience managing suppliers, purchase orders, material requirements, and delivery performance
- Experience negotiating supplier pricing, contracts, or commercial terms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed purchasing decisions
- Experience working with an ERP system
- Must be eligible to receive information controlled under International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements
Desired Qualifications
- SAP experience
- APICS, CPIM, or purchasing certification
