Job Summary
Responsible for purchasing all raw materials and related items to ensure a smooth flow of material to manufacturing. Services include reviewing MRP signals to schedule deliveries, maintaining supplier relationships, managing pricing and quotations, driving lead-time reductions, and supporting continuous supply through supplier stock programs. Role requires negotiating with non-raw material suppliers, maintaining kanban systems, identifying root causes of shortages or delivery misses, and collaborating with quality and operations on returns of defective material. Must be organized, detail-oriented, self-starting, and able to work independently with cross-functional teams; experience with ERP/MRP systems and Lean/5S knowledge is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related discipline or at least three years of related experience
- Knowledge of MRP systems, including inventory control, bills of materials, and routing functions
- Familiar with Lean and 5S principles
- APICS certification preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with various teams and suppliers
