Job Summary
Buyer II responsible for aligning procurement strategies for Carbon Steel, Aluminum, Stainless Steel; lead demand planning for bundled standard items and contracted business; coordinate with sales on pricing and lead-time; deploy metal supply chain practices; own inventory performance at the branch; provide procurement guidance to Sales; manage open purchase orders; ensure adherence to enterprise procurement practices; track KPIs (cost savings, purchase price variance, on-time delivery) and present analyses; create and file purchase orders; develop procedures for safety and loss prevention; monthly travel required; office-based role in Irving, TX.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
- 3+ years of purchasing, supply chain planning, materials and/or commodity management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
- Proficiency in using procurement software, ERP systems, and other digital tools for procurement processes and data management
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Possess the ability to work with minimum supervision
- Multi-commodity experience in Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and or Aluminum is a plus
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
