Job Summary
Buyer II is responsible for the timely and cost-effective procurement of fabricated sheet metal components, machined parts, and electronic components, collaborating with engineering, production, and accounting to source and deliver materials from domestic and overseas vendors; duties include placing and expediting purchase orders, preparing RFQs, negotiating price and terms, arranging deliveries, monitoring inventory levels, and researching new suppliers.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years buying experience in a mid-sized manufacturing environment
- Experience purchasing materials, sheet metal components, fasteners and machined parts
- Experience purchasing electronic components and PCBA’s a plus
- Basic understanding of manufacturing drawings, ability to successfully interact with engineers
- Familiarity with inventory control procedures and experience in MRP systems
