Job Summary
The Buyer II role focuses on gathering quotations, analyzing bids, and awarding production sourcing to maintain schedules and inventories, with collaboration with Engineering for NPI needs. Responsibilities include issuing RFQ/RFPs, selecting sources based on cost/quality/delivery, negotiating long-term pricing, expediting orders to meet production targets, supporting new product development with material sourcing, maintaining inventory levels, managing supplier relationships, leading supplier selections and negotiations, ERP/MRP data upkeep, and ensuring on-time delivery and quality of parts. The role also involves liaising with Accounts Payable on supplier invoices, handling non-conforming material and RMAs, coaching others, and traveling domestically and internationally for supplier qualifications. A Bachelor's degree is preferred; 5+ years procurement experience and APICS CPIM certification are noted as desirable. The environment includes extensive supplier management, ERP/MRP usage, cross-functional teamwork, and adherence to inventory and production schedules.
