Buyer I

Buyer is responsible for all activities involved in the procurement of raw materials, finished goods and services based on product/manufacturing needs in a most timely and economic fashion. Ensuring quality, quantity at cost, effective prices, and delivery on time to meet production schedules and achieve customer satisfaction. Identifies sources, interviews vendors, maintains mandatory files and records, and expedites as necessary. Level II focuses on service coordination of production, resource management, and communicating goals to the supply base while driving continual improvement, 5S, and safety initiatives. The role requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, the ability to analyze quote packages and understand percentage changes and best value in costing, and the capacity to work independently within a team to support supply chain operations in a US-based office.
