Job Summary

Source and procure materials and supplies for approved requisitions to obtain the best overall value meeting contractual requirements. Manage the supply chain for purchased materials and contracted services, including documentation and control of the requisition, quote process, and issuance of purchase orders. Execute and manage all procurement orders for the assigned area until closeout, while facilitating meetings with suppliers and staff from various company areas. Maintain accurate status on open procurement orders and audit quarterly a sample of documents approved by the Purchasing Manager for compliance with FAR, DFAR, HAS, CPSR, and ITAR. Work independently and within a team on special non-recurring and ongoing projects, exercising diplomacy and tact to identify problems and provide solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business with studies in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics or similar discipline
  • minimum of 1 year of experience in purchasing, sourcing, and/or manufacturing planning
  • Prior experience with Government Program procurement
  • working knowledge of FAR/DFAR and DoD or DHS policies
  • knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
  • experienced in purchasing and contract negotiations
  • Working experience in a construction or manufacturing environment
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Suite Word, Excel (ability to perform Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, Concatenate functions), and Outlook Express
  • Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, professional documents, insurance plans, Company policies, procedures and Governmental regulations
  • Requires excellent written, oral, and presentation/communication skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Requires advanced supplier relationship management skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business with studies in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics or similar discipline, plus a minimum of 1 year of experience in purchasing, sourcing, and/or manufacturing planning desired
  • Prior experience with Government Program procurement, to include a working knowledge of FAR/DFAR and DoD or DHS policies highly desired
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Working experience in a construction or manufacturing environment desired
