Job Summary
Buyer I position in Sparta, TN responsible for purchasing quality products/materials, processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, updating inventory and safety stock levels, coordinating transport and delivery, analyzing trends to inform buying decisions, generating and tracking POs, monitoring supplier performance against contracts, reporting KPIs for product line activity, and collaborating with cross-functional teams (logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, customer service, R&D). Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing or 2 years of buying experience, manufacturing/purchasing experience, ERP proficiency, data analysis, and strong communication and teamwork skills. Opportunity to contribute to sourcing strategies and inventory optimization within a fast-paced, global environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Purchasing (Supply Chain, Business Management, Logistics, Mathematics/Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or related field of study) or 2 years of buying experience
- Extensive knowledge of purchasing within a manufacturing environment
- Experience with ERP environment
- Experience in data analysis and reporting
- Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint)
