Job Summary
Buyer I at Crane Company focusing on ensuring continuous supply of direct and indirect materials, optimizing landed costs, and driving efficiency across the supply chain. Responsibilities include: evaluating MRP requirements and Kanban levels, generating and adjusting purchase orders to support production, communicating forecasted needs to suppliers, maintaining transactional records, managing Kanban and supplier-consignments, participating in Kaizen and Value Stream Mapping initiatives to reduce waste, negotiating pricing through volume buys and tooling vs machining, and ensuring compliance with quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001-2015).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact-based decisions
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft office suite software (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform and produce results in multifunctional teams in a dynamic work environment
- Experience working with suppliers from low-cost regions (preferred) and experience with ERP systems (preferred)
