Job Summary
Conduct purchasing and sourcing functions for maintenance and ground support equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective buys in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration regulations. Procure and research materials and services, analyze quotes, and negotiate prices and terms with approved vendors. Manage the purchase order database, track orders from input to receipt, and resolve order conflicts as the primary point of contact. Process Materials on Requisition daily, reconcile accounting discrepancies, and brief management on order status. Ensure proper approvals are received on all items above the $500 procurement limit.
Required Qualifications
- Associates of Arts degree or two years equivalent procurement experience
- two years of purchasing experience in repair station or airline environment
- ability to negotiate terms, establish accounts and determine methods of shipment
- Proficient with current software packages such as PENTAGON, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Typing speed of at least 35 WPM
- good organizational skills
- ability to prioritize work
- accurately perform duties with constant activity in area
- pay close attention to detail
- self-starter requiring a minimum of supervision
- perform with a degree of accuracy in the execution of job assignments
- ability to work under pressure
- relate to others
- maintain flexibility with schedules of the department
