Job Summary
Buyer responsible for managing purchasing and replenishment for assigned sites and customer accounts, reviewing and executing replenishment orders, managing open POs, addressing customer backorders, and meeting defined inventory and procurement metrics. Will assist with onboarding new customer accounts, coordinate inbound material delivery schedules, manage shipment bookings for imports, and negotiate supplier returns for non-conforming material. Requires stocking optimization, supplier performance evaluation, and collaboration with commercial teams to maximize gross margin; proficiency with ERP/CRM systems and Microsoft Excel is expected.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-5 years experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related field in Industrial Distribution
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Strong negotiation skills
- ERP/CRM proficiency
- Microsoft Excel proficiency
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Ability to onboard new customer accounts
- Understanding of inventory metrics (turns, days on hand)
Desired Qualifications
