Job Summary
Source and research suppliers meeting quality, price, and delivery requirements. Negotiate contracts to secure best value while ensuring compliance with company policies. Manage orders by placing and tracking material requests through ERP/MRP systems and Excel. Optimize inventory levels to prevent overstock or shortages. Evaluate supplier performance and provide recommendations for improvement. Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Production, and Quality Control to resolve discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of purchases, invoices, contracts, and vendor data. Comply with safety rules and the G&F quality management system. This role supports the life science and medical device division within the Supply Chain department.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing purchasing/materials environment
- Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role for 3–5 years
- 4-year degree or equivalent
- Bachelor's in Business or Supply Chain
- APICS / ASCM Designation
- Experience with ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 systems
- High proficiency in ERP/MRP systems
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to wear full PPE in a cleanroom environment
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 15 pounds
- Ability to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods
Desired Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role for 3–5 years, preferred
