Job Summary
Identify customer preferences and forecast consumer trends to guide product selection. Evaluate supplier options based on price and quality, then negotiate terms to secure competitive deals and ensure fair dealing. Discover new products, verify shelf quality, and monitor stock levels to maintain adequate inventory within budget. Create reports on sales, budgets, and customer satisfaction to adjust strategies accordingly. Ensure timely product delivery and full contract compliance. Attend industry events and fairs to stay updated with market trends.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a retail buyer or relevant role
- Outstanding communication abilities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrable aptitude in effective negotiating
- Up to speed with purchasing best practices
- Familiarity with market research, data analysis and forecasting techniques
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
Desired Qualifications
- working knowledge of purchasing software (e.g. SpendMap)
- High school diploma
- BSc/BA in business administration or relevant field
