Job Summary
Generate, place, and expedite purchase orders for production materials, MRO, and indirect purchases using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Track purchase orders, ETAs, and supplier commitments to support production schedules while monitoring inventory levels, stock shortages, and partial receipts. Serve as the primary onsite contact for supplier deliveries, receiving issues, and production escalations. Research suppliers and pricing to make timely, cost-effective purchasing decisions and manage vendor-managed inventory programs. Partner with Production, Sales, Purchasing, and suppliers to resolve supply chain issues and maintain accurate purchasing data. Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards while building strong cross-functional relationships.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of purchasing, buying, or expediting experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics or a similar ERP system
- Knowledge of purchasing, expediting, and MRP processes
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Detail-oriented
- Self-motivated
- Ability to build strong relationships in a fast-paced environment
- Attendance on a regular, consistent basis
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods
- Ability to tolerate exposure to noise and varying temperatures
