Job Summary
Buyer (Full-Time) at Event Network responsible for sourcing, development, and planning of product assortments; lead vendor relationships, negotiate terms, manage inventory, analyze performance, collaborate with VP Purchasing, travel to trade shows and factories, and work with internal teams on art and product development. Travel to appropriate trade shows, vendor showrooms, and factories; visit stores to evaluate merchandise mix; train and mentor Assistant Buyers; ensure revenue, SKU, inventory, and margin goals are met. Requires 3+ years retail buying experience, BA/BS or equivalent, strong analytical and negotiation skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of retail product buying and product development experience
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree or equivalent industry experience
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and develop strong, long-term business relationships
- Strong math and analytical skills and a full understanding of retail buying metrics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bi-lingual a plus
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of retail product buying and product development experience
- Experience in buying for Non-Profit Cultural attractions a plus
- Managerial / leadership experience a plus
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and develop strong, long-term business relationships
- Strong math and analytical skills and a full understanding of retail buying metrics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bi-lingual a plus
- Bachelor of Arts or Science degree or equivalent industry experience
- Must be accurate, detail oriented, organized, assertive, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Must be self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
