Job Summary
Buyer responsible for managing a portion of Elliott Equipment’s supply base, including issuing and expediting RFQ/RFPs, managing purchase orders, and resolving supplier-related issues. Involves procurement activities across the procure-to-pay cycle, supporting new product development and prototyping, retrieving data from MRP for analysis, communicating ECO changes to suppliers, and maintaining new part setup in MRP. Requires collaboration with other departments, back-up support for other buyers, and preparation of departmental reports and KPIs. Strong emphasis on supplier relationship management, adherence to company objectives and quality standards, and data-driven purchasing in a manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related area preferred.
- Two years of purchasing experience in the manufacturing industry a plus.
- Basic understanding of MRP systems.
- Basic understanding of the order fulfillment process.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong knowledge and use of MS Excel and data manipulation/extraction.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
