Job Summary
Order materials, services, and supplies for projects, including custom and stock products, while researching and releasing requisitions. Monitor and analyze inventory through the entire procurement lifecycle, performing cycle counts and audits. Review open purchase orders for confirmation, shortage reports, and price variances. Conduct follow-ups with vendors to reduce costs, improve freight economies, and negotiate favorable payment terms. Resolve supplier issues regarding delivery dates, quality, specifications, or cost, and update management on material arrivals and schedule interference. Coordinate with sales and project managers to prioritize requirements and minimize inventory value. Assist in finding and developing suppliers to expand the supply base and drive competitive cost advantages. Participate in physical inventories and handle returned goods authorizations to ensure accurate job costs. Work overtime as required and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred and or a minimum of up to one (1) year related experience and/or training required, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with ERP or equivalent system preferred
- Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, learn and interpret instructions
- Ability to be in a stationary position, move or position self to move
- Ability to operate a computer, phone, and other productivity machinery
- Must be able to work under varying degrees of workplace stress where constructive feedback from others is encouraged
- Must have excellent conflict resolution skills and be able to diplomatically handle confrontation
- Successful completion of employment verifications, background check, drug screen, and driving record (if applicable) required in advance of hire
