Job Summary
Join Commonwealth Fusion Systems as a Buyer to support procurement for raw materials, parts, subassemblies, finished goods, equipment, tooling, supplies, and/or services. Responsibilities include issuing high-volume purchase orders up to authorized limits, reviewing and negotiating standard contract terms, coordinating with legal when necessary, identifying best-value suppliers via RFQ processes, onboarding suppliers, managing open orders, resolving invoice issues, ensuring timely payments, adhering to procurement and export compliance policies, and providing timely updates to internal customers. Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 0-2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, with strong communication, negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills. Bonus points for a Master’s degree and experience in high-growth environments or sourcing highly technical products. Must-have willingness to travel occasionally and a safety-conscious mindset.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or other related fields
- 0-2 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain or related role
- Ability to communicate with internal engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers in a collaborative way
- Ability to negotiate simple contracts
- Organizational and project management skills
- Customer service mindset and entrepreneurial spirit
- Exceptional creative problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrate integrity, respect, attention to detail, collaboration, creativity and agility
- Ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment
- Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call
