Job Summary
The Buyer analyzes demand, determines what needs to be ordered, processes purchase orders, maintains vendor records, tracks inventory, and ensures timely delivery of goods and services. Responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and processing POs; communicating with vendors for quotes, price negotiations, order confirmations, and delivery tracking; locating and qualifying new suppliers; maintaining purchasing records, pricing lists, and contracts; processing requisitions; tracking cost reductions; monitoring inventory and notifying staff of low stock; verifying received goods against POs and packing slips; assisting with invoice matching and reconciliation; supporting audits and compliance; updating procurement systems; and coordinating with accounting, operations, and other departments to meet purchasing needs. Proficiency with Excel (V-lookup, pivot tables) and ERP systems preferred. Travel is not required; work is in an office and plant/warehouse environment five days per week.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of administrative, purchasing, or supply chain experience (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with purchasing or ERP systems is a plus
- Basic knowledge of procurement and inventory processes
- Strong analytical, problem solving abilities, data accuracy and attention to detail
