Job Summary
The Buyer will forecast, plan, and purchase a broad portfolio of ingredients, packaging, and indirect materials to support Arcadia’s manufacturing and business continuity. Responsibilities include managing raw materials and packaging spend across suppliers and plants, developing forecasting models for inventory planning, analyzing usage trends and production schedules to identify supply risks, selecting and qualifying suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, creating purchase orders, tracking delivery timing and shortages, monitoring inventory levels and open POs to prevent stockouts, leading supplier performance reviews, addressing issues related to service, quality, and delivery, maintaining accurate supplier and item data in purchasing systems, and coordinating with Production, Quality, and Warehouse to align purchasing with operational needs. Core competencies include attention to detail, professional supplier communication, analytical thinking, forecasting and inventory planning, urgency and accountability, and cross-functional collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- 2 to 5 years of purchasing, procurement, or buyer experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience managing multiple categories or a broad purchasing portfolio
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, purchasing workflows, and inventory management fundamentals
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data, pricing, inventory, and supplier performance information
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
