Job Summary
The Buyer 1 role performs purchasing activities to support production and BU operations, collaborating with BU Planning Team/Director of Supply Chain. Primary duties include generating and managing ERP purchase orders/releases, communicating PO status to cross-functional teams, maintaining ERP part data (preferred supplier, MPN, lead times, NCNR), coordinating with Materials Planner on pricing and logistics, sourcing material shortages to minimize PPV and excess inventory, managing MRB items and supplier actions, executing contract changes, and contributing to PFEP/VMI changes. The role emphasizes material continuity, inventory levels, cost monitoring, and strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills. Requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 1 year of supply chain experience, with proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in operations, Inventory or Purchasing Management, or equivalent combination of educational and work experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Supply Chain is required
- Proficient English business communications skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in operating a computer including using a Windows based operating systems and related software
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS Office including Excel (v-lookups, data filters, pivot tables etc.)
- Self-motivated team player, able to work well under pressure
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
