Job Summary
Manage department operations by maximizing gross margins, ensuring sales production, and controlling inventory and expenses. Train, delegate, and assist Associates on assigned tasks while developing relationships with vendors, makers, and producers. Coordinate aggressive merchandising plans to maximize sales and variety, and assist in production, stocking, and display building. Supervise safety and sanitation programs, pull meat cases by color, quality, and dates, and promote sales through sampling. Develop daily work plans based on sales projections and budgeted labor goals, and perform personnel functions including training and corrective actions. Follow all health code, store, and safety policies while fostering a positive atmosphere for customers and Associates.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to work with Supermarket math (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages, distribution, penetration, gross profit, and Sales per Associate Hour) and weights
- Managers Food Handler's Certification
