Job Summary
Cut, trim, and prepare meat for grocery stores or restaurants using hand tools and power equipment. Operate meat processing equipment to tenderize, package, weigh, label, and price products, including vacuum packing for distribution. Receive and store deliveries while evaluating quality control and ensuring the workspace remains sanitary. Notify the manager of any issues affecting product quality and ensure all work complies with USDA guidelines. Meet productivity, accuracy, and quality standards while performing other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and focus on customer service
- Familiarity with USDA guidelines
- Ability to operate band saws and other meat-cutting equipment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to fulfill customer orders efficiently and accurately
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time
- Must be able to work near animal carcasses, blood, and other animal fluids
- Ability to tolerate temperatures in the workspace that fluctuate between extreme cold and extreme heat
Desired Qualifications
- At least one years of experience in meat cutting, packaging, and food handling preferred
