Job Summary
Remove tableware to keep tables clear, clear dirty dishes and clean surfaces for the next guests, and ensure clean dishes, flatware, glasses, straws, and napkins are available. Assist Dishwashers by sorting and organizing used tableware, deliver food and aid with refills during peak times, clean spills in the kitchen and dining areas, and maintain restroom cleanliness. Must tolerate stress in a fast-paced environment, lift up to 25 pounds, and stand or walk for prolonged periods. Previous busser experience is preferred, and candidates must complete the restaurant training course. High school diploma required; hospitality certification is a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills for interacting with restaurant guests
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for conveying information to other staff members
- Knowledge of food production and service, including safe storage practices, handling methods, and laws and regulations
- Ability to tolerate stress and work in a fast-paced environment
- Physical strength for lifting and moving heavy objects and stamina for standing and walking for long hours
- Dexterity for dealing with objects that are fragile or otherwise need careful handling
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Must successfully complete restaurants training course
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a busser preferred
- High school diploma
