Job Summary
Set and reset dining room tables, refill water glasses, and serve bread while maintaining assigned dining room sections. Restock clean plates, silverware, and glassware, and respond to guest needs by partnering with servers and bartenders. Bake bread, package take-home items, and communicate guest requests or complaints to managers. Adhere to standard procedures for table maintenance, sanitation, and safety laws. May be scheduled for meetings, banquets, and special events. Work a flexible part-time schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with varying hours based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Meet state age requirement for the position
- Must be able to read and communicate in English clearly and effectively
- Must have professional communication and social skills appropriate for guests
- Must be self motivated and able to work calmly and effectively under pressure
- Strong team-work orientation, well organized, able to take direction from others
- Able to work a flexible, part-time schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Lunch-time serving hours may be required for certain seasons, holidays, or special events
- Work days and hours vary in accordance with business need
- Able to stand for 4 or more hours at a time
- Able to lift and carry 35 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds occasionally
- Able to lift and carry loaded trays and move tables and chairs
- Physical ability to grasp, stoop, reach, balance, move tables, and perform similar job-related movements
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Prefer prior restaurant, fine dining, or customer service experience
- Understanding of dining room service procedures, safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures preferred
