Job Summary
Proactively seek strategic cloud cost optimization opportunities with senior business unit and technology leaders. Analyze cloud operations and business processes to elicit financial management requirements, evaluate alternative solutions, and recommend approaches that optimize cloud spend and value. Work directly with Cloud teams, engineers, and architects to understand use cases, processes, and drivers across multiple business units. Partner with Finance, Cloud, and Technology stakeholders to establish and improve cloud financial management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, chargeback/showback, cost allocation, and spend transparency. Serve as a communication bridge to share cloud spend outcomes, keep leaders informed of spending issues, and resolve conflicts to drive informed decision-making. Accountable for the accuracy of cloud spend data and forecasts, FinOps process improvements, and the technical solution to business needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 7 years' experience in Finance, Economic, or Information Technology
- Master's degree with 6 years' experience
- PhD with 2 years' experience
- Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, allocation, and optimization practices in a multi-stakeholder environment
- Experience with data analytics and statistical analytics
- Understanding of cloud services, cloud consumption models, and the financial drivers that influence cloud spend
- Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate findings into clear business recommendations, dashboards, and executive-level presentations
- Exercises latitude in the approach to problem solving
- Determines and develops approach and solutions to problems independently
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with any of the following: Jira, MS Excel, Power BI and SAP R2R
Desired Qualifications
- FinOps certification or demonstrated experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or cloud economics
- Cloud cost management
