Job Summary
Business Support Engineer within the Pharmaceutical Development Solutions team supports the Business Development function by preparing proposals, designs, quotations, and project plans to secure additional business. Ensures equipment capability and readiness for client requirements across manufacturing and packaging processes. Responsibilities include estimating and recommending equipment for client RFQs, developing strategic technical plans with clients and internal teams, leading cross-functional execution of equipment initiatives, designing and specifying URS/FS/DS, procuring/installing/commissioning/trial/qualifying equipment, implementing equipment modifications, and ensuring EH&S considerations. Also supports deviation investigations (CAPA), site change control as owner/reviewer, and development of site equipment procedures and standards. Requires strong project management, analytical, problem-solving, leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with excellent technical communication. Education includes a B.Sc. in Engineering; P.Eng preferred. Working conditions include a standard 37.5-hour work week with occasional after-hours and weekend support. Compensation range is $81,240–$101,550 with a comprehensive benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of Engineering experience in the manufacturing and packaging industry
- Current P. Eng status (or equivalent) or eligible
- B.Sc. Engineering - Various specialties (Chemical, Controls, Mechanical, Computer, Electrical, etc.)
- Excellent technical communication skills
- Knowledge of applicable GMPs and engineering practices
- Ability to manage multiple projects with cross-functional teams
- Experience in design, specification, procurement, install, IQ/OQ, and handover of equipment for manufacturing and packaging
