Job Summary

Write breaking news and enterprise stories for The Hill's business section covering taxes, the budget, finance, healthcare, technology, and energy. Compile the annual Top Lobbyists list and track economic reports from the administration and Congress. Coordinate with specialized reporters on healthcare, technology, and energy while balancing spot stories and long-form features for print and digital platforms. Cover K Street, the administration, Congress, and state-level trends. Work closely with editors to fill the business section during print publication days.

Required Qualifications

  • A degree in journalism or a related field
  • previous newsroom experience
  • Being able to coordinate with other reporters who specialize in areas such as healthcare, technology and energy

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience covering business and politics
  • Basic familiarity with Google Trends
  • SEO skills
  • real-time analytics
