Job Summary
Business Relationship Manager/AVP responsible for sourcing, growing, and retaining commercial banking relationships in the Franklin Square, NY area. SME on Deposit, Credit, and Cash Management products, leading cross-branch collaboration with Wealth Management, Mortgage, and Consumer teams. Develop and execute integrated sales plans to acquire new-to-bank clients, deepen existing relationships, and expand portfolio balance and revenue. Manage loan requests up to $250K directly and partner with senior bankers on larger lending, while ensuring regulatory compliance, risk controls, and high-quality client service. Requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 5-8 years of experience in banking/Business Banking, with strong skills in credit structuring, relationship management, and sales execution. Mortgage licensing/registration is required to engage in mortgage-originator activities; effective communication, client development, and cross-functional collaboration are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in a related banking/financial services role; preferably 2-5 years banking experience or 2-3 years in Business Banking
- Strong consulting skills; ability to probe, listen, clarify and present information to advance sales transactions
- Exceptional presentation and communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of credit structuring and processing; credit training preferred
- Demonstrated analytical ability to assimilate complex financial and operating information
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; mortgage licensing requirement awareness
- Ability to manage and grow a book of high-value commercial clients; portfolio management and risk awareness
- Experience in developing and executing integrated sales plans; cross-functional collaboration
- Knowledge of Deposit, Credit, and Cash Management products; SME for related products
- Experience with loan underwriting processes and coordinating with risk teams
- Regulatory compliance orientation; adherence to internal controls and policies
- Customer-focused with strong business development skills
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams including Wealth Management, Mortgage, and Consumer segments
- Experience with mortgage licensing and disclosures; familiarity with SAFE Act requirements
- Understanding of scorecard metrics and KPIs used to drive business performance
- Demonstrated ability to grow balance and revenue within a portfolio
- Proficiency in presenting to clients and senior management
- Attention to documentation accuracy and timely processing
