Job Summary
Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect complex medical equipment, instrumentation, and systems in compliance with Federal, State, and regulatory requirements. Schedule preventative maintenance per manufacturer recommendations, monitor outside vendor activities, and identify worn components to recommend new equipment and testing procedures. Perform complex technical inspections of new, used, or reconditioned military medical equipment, manage third-party repairs, and develop performance specifications for medical equipment systems. Maintain documentation on repairs, failures, and support items while responding to technical inquiries and preparing purchase requisitions. Travel approximately 25% as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Experience performing biomedical equipment maintenance, repair, and maintenance cycles on Military Medical Equipment including but not limited to Radiographic Units, Scales, Analyzers, Centrifuges, Vital signs monitors, Infusion pumps, Defibrillators/AEDs, Exam room diagnostic equipment, Portable suction units, EKG machines, Dental Delivery Units, Ophtalmoscopes, and other various equipment
- Experience performing complex technical inspections of new, used or reconditioned Army medical equipment; including experience with medical equipment overhaul
- Proven technical writing skills
- A.A.S in Medical Equipment Technology or more advanced degree in related field or AAMI Certification (CBET), and/or graduate of DoD Medical Equipment Repairers Course
- A.A.S degree
- Eight or more (8+) years of relevant experience
- Five (5+) or more years directly related experience in biomedical equipment repair, installation, maintenance, calibration, and inspection
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC)
- Travel as needed (estimated 25%)
