Business Operations Analyst I

Job Summary

Research, collect, and synthesize information from internal and external sources to support market research, customer analysis, and opportunity assessments. Analyze business development, proposal, operational, and organizational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, then develop findings and recommendations for leadership decision-making. Maintain visibility of proposal, capture, and business development activities by tracking schedules, milestones, and workflow status while monitoring operational metrics to identify bottlenecks. Develop reports, dashboards, scorecards, and executive briefing materials, presenting information clearly to supervisors and leadership. Assist with documenting business processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures to support continuous improvement efforts and workflow automation initiatives. Utilize business applications and reporting tools, including AI-enabled productivity tools, to maintain data repositories and improve operational consistency.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Management, Operations, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field
  • 1 to 3 years of professional experience in business operations, project support, business analysis, data analysis, administration, proposal support, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience using enterprise AI productivity tools, including Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT, to support research, analysis, document development, or workflow improvement
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment
  • Proficient in developing clear reports, dashboards, briefing materials, SOPs, and decision-support documents for leadership and cross-functional audiences
  • Ability to present information and findings clearly and professionally to supervisors, leadership, and team members
  • Skilled in maintaining operational trackers, data repositories, workflow systems, and reusable content artifacts
  • Ability to gather, synthesize, and interpret complex operational and business data to produce actionable insights and recommendations
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines, identify bottlenecks, and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal government contracting organizations
  • Familiarity with business development, proposal development, project management, or operations functions
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Power Automate, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Salesforce, HubSpot, Monday.com, Unanet, or similar platforms
  • Exposure to AI-enabled productivity tools and workflow automation technologies
  • Internship, academic, or professional experience involving data analysis, reporting, research, or process improvement
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational discipline
  • Comfortable learning new technologies and systems
  • Ability to translate information into actionable insights
  • Strong follow-through and accountability
