Job Summary

Manage daily billing and collecting for Private Pay, Medicaid, Hospice, and Managed Care, including Medicaid pending applications and annual redeterminations. Process administrative accounts payables, deposit checks, and manage resident trust funds while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Monitor Accounts Receivable weekly, coordinate month-end AR close, and facilitate collection efforts for outstanding balances. Supervise business office staff, interpret facility policies, and communicate financial progress to the Executive Director. Maintain accurate admission and discharge documentation, attend weekly A/R and Medicare review meetings, and ensure the office operates efficiently and safely.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in accounting, healthcare administration or business management preferred or a high school diploma with equivalent work experience
  • Fundamental knowledge of basic accounting principles and agency reimbursement programs
  • Healthcare billing experience in long term care setting, required
  • Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
  • A minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma
  • Prior experience in the long-term care environment, specifically billing regulations
  • Ability to use a computer
  • Demonstrates organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently, problem solve and make decisions as necessary
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures and state and federal regulations
