Job Summary
Manage and oversee bookkeeping functions including posting payments and charges to patient ledgers, balancing daily receipts, collecting delinquent accounts, and referring delinquent accounts to collection agencies. Recruit, select, hire, train, evaluate, counsel, and supervise business office staff while effectively managing operations within budget. Implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures governing business office functions in the post acute care facility, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Maintain professional relationships with associates and vendors, uphold confidentiality, and adhere to the Code of Conduct. Communicate productively on an interdisciplinary team and demonstrate dependable attendance.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must be able to demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
- Must be able to maintain professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
- Must be able to display integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and complete mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
- Must be able to understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Must be able to effectively manage and oversee bookkeeping functions including: posting payments and charges to patient ledgers, balance daily receipts, collect delinquent accounts, and evaluate need for and refer delinquent accounts to collection agencies
- Must be able to maintain facility checkbook and reconcile checkbook regularly
- Must be able to manage and oversee patient accounts
- Must be able to recruit, select, hire, train, evaluate, counsel, and supervise business office staff
- Must be able to effectively manage and operate within budget
- Must be able to exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of patients
- Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Must be able to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the business office functions in the post acute care facility
- Must be able to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must be able to be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
- Must be able to perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) years of office management experience
- One (1) year in post acute care or other geriatric related field
