Job Summary
Manage and oversee bookkeeping functions including posting payments and charges to patient ledgers, balancing daily receipts, collecting delinquent accounts, and referring delinquent accounts to collection agencies. Recruit, select, hire, train, evaluate, counsel, and supervise business office staff while effectively managing operations within budget. Implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures governing business office functions in the post acute care facility, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Maintain professional relationships with associates and vendors, uphold confidentiality, and demonstrate integrity by adhering to the Code of Conduct. Communicate productively on an interdisciplinary team and exhibit excellent customer service toward patients.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of an associate's degree or equivalent experience
- Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
- Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Desired Qualifications
- Two (2) years of office management experience preferred
- One (1) year in post acute care or other geriatric related field preferred
