Job Summary
Detail-oriented Business Office Manager responsible for the facility’s financial and administrative operations in a nursing home setting. Responsible for overseeing day-to-day business office activities, accurate billing for resident services (private pay, Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance), maintaining financial records (A/R, A/P), managing resident trust accounts, ensuring regulatory and corporate compliance, supporting budget preparation and financial reporting, and supervising business office staff. Collaborates with residents and families on payment plans and insurance inquiries; supports the Nursing Home Administrator and leadership team as needed. Strong emphasis on leadership, organizational ability, and delivering exceptional service.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility business office setting with specific billing/collecting and patient trust accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of billing procedures, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and insurance processes
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Prior supervisor experience in a business office setting preferred
- Point Click Care (PCC) billing system experience preferred
- National Data Care Resident Funds Management System (RFMS) experience preferred
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Compassionate and dedicated approach to working with residents and their families
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
- Billing/collections experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid billing and insurance processes
- Supervisory experience
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- PCC (Point Click Care) billing system experience preferred
- RFMS (Resident Funds Management System) experience preferred
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to assist with budget preparation and financial reporting
- Experience with admissions/discharges and room changes processes
- Compliance monitoring with state, federal, and corporate guidelines
