Job Summary
Verify payer eligibility for patient admissions and enter census, resident fund transactions, and cash receipts. Assist with communicating census data to pharmacy and labs, completing facility trust deposits, and month-end activities. Manage pre-admission paperwork, distribute resident funds, and support front office reception areas. Handle payroll or HR duties as directed while maintaining resident confidentiality and complying with safety and infection control measures. Work full-time with a competitive starting wage, paid life insurance, and $5,000 annual tuition reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Ten key calculator and keyboarding
- Knowledge of accepted accounting practices
- Thorough understanding of the principles Business Office policies/procedures
- Basic typing, computer, and good organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge in the usage of computers and data input/output to include report retrieval
- Ability to develop and interpret Business Office policies/procedures and apply them in specific situations
- Ability to follow oral and verbal instructions, function independently and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
- Ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices
- Ability to demonstrate personal integrity and deal tactfully with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and personnel
- Good physical and mental health, free of communicable diseases
- Ability to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel
- Sound judgment in prioritizing the performance of tasks, duties and responsibilities in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures
- Ability to be discrete and protect the integrity of confidential information and stay within Compliance
- Patience, a cheerful disposition, enthusiasm and a willingness to handle residents based on whatever maturity and physical level in which they are currently functioning
- Ability to adhere to professional code of ethics
- Ability to relate information concerning a resident's condition
