Job Summary
Manage parish and school accounting, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting. Oversee daily coordination of departmental funds, bank accounts, and bill payments while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Prepare and review the annual fiscal budget, coordinate fundraising programs, and serve as the liaison between the parish, school, and Archdiocese on financial and HR matters. Administer HR policies, manage employee records, coordinate recruiting and termination, and supervise staff training programs. Maintain accurate financial records, supervise property management and capital equipment, and represent the organization to vendors and governmental authorities. This role supports the Pastor and Principal in ensuring the financial sustainability and operational efficiency of the Parish & School.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field, with course work in business math, accounting or recordkeeping
- Minimum of two (3) years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a progressively responsible business and supervisory role
- Previous experience performing general human resources functions or duties
- Previous experience processing/auditing payroll and managing budgets
- Compliance with Archdiocesan Safe Environment requirements
- Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, valid vehicle insurance
- Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening
- Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- Experience with various computer applications, specifically ParishSOFT and Paylocity
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize work effectively
- Accurate recordkeeping and efficient filing skills
- Previous management/supervisor experience required
- Knowledge and understanding of the Catholic Church
- Thorough understanding of non-profit accounting, bookkeeping and financial management systems
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred but not required
