Job Summary
Business Manager (Assistant Community Manager) for an affordable apartment community in Columba, Chula Vista, CA. Responsible for on-site accounting and leasing, and serving as person-in-charge when the Community Manager is absent. Manages financial operations (accounts payable/receivable, rent processing), supports asset management (budgets, financial reports, cost control), oversees leasing from inquiry to move-in, maintains resident files, supports marketing to fill vacancies, conducts tours, processes applications, ensures compliance with policies and fair housing laws, maintains move-in/move-out records, handles resident relations and customer service, and assists with office tasks and resident events. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; Yardi or MRI experience a plus; able to lift up to 25 pounds. May require to act as PIC and perform duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in affordable/tax credit housing/conventional housing
- strong understanding of day-to-day operations of a multi-family apartment community (leasing, financial reporting, resident services)
- ability to maintain high occupancy rates and provide exceptional customer service
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with Yardi and/or MRI is a plus
- physically able to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds
