Job Summary
Business Litigation Associate needed in Buchalter’s Sacramento or Portland offices to support the Litigation Practice Group. Requires 3+ years of business litigation experience, Juris Doctorate, and California or Oregon licensure. Responsibilities include legal research and analysis, drafting pleadings and case documents, attending hearings, managing matters from start to finish, and professional communication with clients and supervising attorneys. Strong writing, drafting, negotiation, and teamwork skills essential; familiarity with federal and state procedural rules and case-management capabilities are required. Salary range is $160,000–$210,000 with bonus potential; benefits include bonuses, unlimited PTO, 401k, and full benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate (JD) with excellent academic credentials
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in California or Oregon
- Familiarity with federal and state court procedural rules and practices
- Familiarity with and ability to prepare basic litigation documents
- Case management experience
- Clear and effective drafting skills
- Strong negotiating skills
- Ability to learn new substantive legal topics as needed
- Ability to provide effective and reliable legal services to clients and supervising attorneys
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines
- Strong organization and matter management skills
- Ability to work effectively with others as part of a team
